Pioneer Square gallery guide

Start with a short route, not every gallery.

Pioneer Square has Seattle’s largest concentration of galleries, but hours and public access still vary. Choose two or three anchors, leave room for unexpected stops, and check the live First Thursday map when the art walk is the reason for going.

24 current listings

The directory includes more than commercial galleries.

Commercial programs sit beside artist-run rooms, public galleries, nonprofits, and specialist spaces. That mix is what makes the neighborhood useful for a first Seattle gallery outing.

First Thursday

The monthly art walk adds openings, late hours, and event-only access. The current art-walk map shows which listings are participating that month.

Weekday or Saturday

A quieter visit makes it easier to spend time in individual spaces. Several galleries keep Tuesday–Saturday patterns, while public and artist-run spaces may follow different schedules.

Before leaving

First Thursday hours are not ordinary hours.

An event listing can temporarily override a gallery’s usual schedule, while another space may sit out that month. Check the organizer’s live map and each selected gallery’s official site on the day of your visit.
